Stairs and burpees workout plan
Whether you have a flight of stairs in your home or you live near some park or stadium steps, this simple and effective stairs and burpees workout will challenge your whole body, plus give you a good dose of cardio.
It is perfect for traveling or as a at-home workout when you don’t have time for the gym. This stairs and burpees workout will burn fat and calories.
Burpees workout details
1 stair run, 10 burpees
2 stair runs, 9 burpees
3 stair runs, 8 burpees
4 stair runs, 7 burpees
Etc. until you do 10 stair runs and you find yourself with 1 burpee
Why burpees?
I am not the biggest fan of burpees but they have benefits.
Here are just a few benefits that come from doing burpees:
- Increased strength. Burpees are a full-body workout. They work a variety of upper and lower body muscles.
- Functional fitness. An exercise such as the burpee will actually increase your functional fitness, thus helping you perform better in your everyday life. Walking, lifting things and going up stairs become a lot easier.
- Burns fat. Because burpees are so intense, you will most likely burn more fat doing an exercise like this one compared to others.
How to do a burpee?
You can do a basic burpee or by adding variations that include pushups, dumbbells and more.
I prefer the no pushup variation. But I have also included dumbbells when pushed by my coach to add some intensity and variation.
