My 2019 season is really about to kick off. I am one week out from NPC Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh.
I can’t believe it is almost time to get dolled up, wear my sparkly blue bikini and take a twirl on the stage.
I will admit that I am still a little unsure about all of this even though I have been preppin’ for months. I have been working hard, but is it enough? I guess it depends on what I am measuring enough up against.
Can I beat 2018?

The goal is to beat 2018 inside and out. I found the sweet spot at the last show of the season, NPC U.S.A. Coastal. I found a way to calm the inner demons and noises. I stepped on that stage knowing I gave it everything I got to get there because weeks before I wasn’t sure I could do it again.
Real talk: I have been struggling with comparison. Comparison of others. It’s easy to scroll through Instagram and feel like you are not enough or progressing where you think you should be. You see girls getting leaner and leaner prepping for this show and that show. It’s hard not to psych yourself out.
And even though I know you can’t trust everything you see. I have no idea what they are doing, where they are at in their journey, are they taking different supplements or more. Regardless of any of those things, I know I can only be responsible for myself.
Keeping my body in check
With just a few more workouts left, the goal is to keep my head level. One thing no one tells you about is how you can go from zero to 100 in the matter of moments. It can be soul crushing and play with your mind.
Your body can follow suit if you are not careful. So, I will have some melatonin to help me sleep on hand cause sleep is one of the first things to go for me. My mind runs so many different scenarios that I need to quiet the noise.
One of the things I fall victim to is cramping in my calves and feet. So, it’s something that we keep a close eye on. I also add liquid magnesium several times a day. It works way better than mustard.
