Easy 5 ingredient banana pancakes
Breakfast can be served as any meal of the day. Pancakes are not just reserved for the morning.
Typically I eat oatmeal and eggs every morning. But I found a way to take pretty much the same ingredients and make 5 ingredient banana pancakes, which are quick and easy to make.
These banana oatmeal pancakes are delicious and a great first meal of the day. They are made with ripe bananas, oats, an egg, a touch of vanilla and baking powder.

You probably have all five ingredients in your house. Just toss them in a blender, I use my Nutribullet, and then straight to the stove.
Or you can mix the ingredients in the bowl. Either way, these pancakes are an excellent source of fiber and nutrients, making this a healthy breakfast.
Ingredients
Bananas: extra ripe bananas with brown spots work the best
Rolled oats: this recipe works well with rolled oats. I used Bob’s Red Mill Old Fashion Rolled Oats.
Eggs: I used a whole egg but egg whites can probably work too.
Baking powder: Baking powder can help your pancakes with fluffiness.
Vanilla extract: Adds some flavor
How to make 5 ingredient banana pancakes
Most everyone has leftover ripe, spotty bananas from the week — a little too ripe to enjoy as is, making them perfect for a quick batch of pancakes. I tossed everything in a Nutribullet, but you also can:
Throw your ripe banana into a mixing bowl and mash it.
Add a little baking powder and vanilla to the mashed banana. Mix
Beat the large egg and add it to the banana mixture.
Pulse the oatmeal in a blender to make oat flour. Fold into banana mixture.
Place a large skillet on medium heat and add cooking spray.
Add a scoop or two of pancake batter to the pan.
Cook 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to form on top of the first side and the bottom is golden brown.
Flip the pancakes and cook another 1-2 minutes on the second side, until both sides are golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.
Top with a drizzle of maple syrup with some whipped cream.
Add-ins and toppings
These banana oat pancakes are a great breakfast idea. Even though they only require five ingredients, you can add chopped nuts, chocolate chips, blueberries and more.
You also can add different toppings including fresh fruit, nut butter or whipped cream.
What to serve with this
If you want a protein to go with this, which I recommend, add a side of eggs and possibly a breakfast meat like chicken sausage.
