We are almost a month into fall and I am facing the reality that it is here. Since I can’t fight Mother Nature, I figured I would share three things I’m looking forward to this fall.
Cooler running temperatures
I am training for a half marathon so running in cooler temperatures makes life more bearable. I run three times a week.
I am running before the sun comes up on Saturdays and Sundays, which has temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s. When I am running my Sunday long runs, which are up to nine miles as of this weekend, allow me to feel a little more at ease.
If you aren’t into running, there are a number of other options. Check out other ways to enjoy your fall fitness outdoors.
Spending time with friends
Fall is usually the seasons of fairs and festivals which means plenty of time to spend with family and friends. From pumpkins to peanuts and Oktoberfest to oysters, there are so many things we celebrate.
I am not in competition prep, which means I have a little more flexibility with my time and what I do with it. While I am in prep I am very strict with what I do because I have a target. The smallest things can send me sideways so I try to limit distractions.
I recently went to see Fantasia at the South Carolina State Fair. I had forgotten a couple of her songs but had a great time with my coworkers.
Live music is always the best. It had me running back to my car to listen to Fantasia on Spotify.
I am such a summer person but this fall, Shaun and I are going to do some fall activities. One thing we will try this year is taking our bikes to the local state park to get around on the trails and enjoy the outdoors.
We also are going to go to a pumpkin patch and a corn maze. Are you looking for a corn maze near you?
I have wanted to do a corn maze for a while but never did it. So, we are going to do that for sure. I already staked out which one already.
I honestly wish I could fast forward to summer, but I know I must embrace this fall season while it is here.
