At around 5:30 pm, my wrist vibrated indicating that I had reached 10,000 steps. Not too shabby seeing that I have been at the FitBloggin Conference in Savannah and didn’t do much moving around besides a two mile run at lunch time.
It’s only been a little more than a day that I have been wearing it. I won on Friday from Move Forward PT, a group of physical therapists that are members of the American Physical Therapy Association at the conference.
Along my steps, I took a little run with Got Chocolate Milk, a FitBloggin sponsor, and health and fitness bloggers from around the country. I haven’t run anything more than speed work and hill work since Rock ‘n’ Roll Raleigh Half Marathon, so it was nice to hit the pavement a little.
The route took us down a beautiful tree lined street that intermingled with a number of local squares and parks. The weather was pretty perfect. It was also good to get out of the cool air conditioned hotel and feel some warmth on my skin.
Along the way, I also ran into a fellow Black Girls RUN! NYC member, Adrienne Lotson. One of the many things that I love about the Black Girls RUN! community is that if we are wearing gear, we will speak regardless of where we see one another. I did a shout out on my way past her the first time, but on the way back, I caught up to her to just chat and find out where she was from.
