In a world of cooking, there are dozens of kitchen tools and gadgets to help you create a culinary masterpiece. But having the right tools in the kitchen is just as important.
I spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing dozens of meals every week. It’s not always because I am on meal prep for competitions. I like to cook and experiment with new recipes. The only thing I do not like are all the dishes that comes from my time in the kitchen.
It’s important to have the right kitchen tools in helping me reach my goal. The right tools will help you with your goals too.
Here are my top essential kitchen tools

Food processor. It’s like having a personal sous chef. It can chop, slice, dice, shred and mince within an instant. You can do it all by hand but the time saving during prep makes a food processor a worthy investment.
Spiralizer. Spiralized vegetables are something that I am incorporating more and more. Having a spiralizer provides opportunities for creating nutritious recipes and for making unique substitutions.
Electronic scale. If you are trying to lose weight or build muscle mass, keeping track of your calorie intake is important. If you aren’t weighing and measuring your servings accurately, then you are won’t achieve your goals.
Measuring cups and spoons. These are also very essentials for meal prep. Similarly to the electronic scale, to get the best results you need to ensure that you are measuring accurately.
Cast iron skillet. Yes, a cast iron skillet. But it’s not for frying. I do not have an indoor grill but I like grill marks and this does the trick. I sear protein on the stove and then slide it all into the oven to finish cooking.
These are the tools that I rely on most. Could I meal prep without these? Yes, but they make things much easier. I have made it convenient for you to shop, by sharing some my favorite kitchen essentials, from Target.
