One of the things that I loved the most right from the beginning was how personable Robby seemed as he talked to everyone. His laugh is contagious. Every time he laughed, the crowd laughed too.
Robby along with his brother-in-law, Brad Montague, started making videos in 2012. Since then, they have reached millions of people worldwide through their YouTube channel in collaboration with “SoulPancake.”
Through their many stories, their message is pretty simple. They want the world to treat other people like they matter and hope to help create a society where everyone is celebrated, not just famous people.
They shared that when they met Justin Timberlake, it really hit home. Justin treated them like royalty asking about Robby’s interests, family and more. It didn’t matter that he just performed for a full arena. But everything changed when Justin’s grandmother came backstage after the concert. Justin basically forgot all about them so Brad tells the story. “We learned no one is more important than your grandmother,” Brad told the group. He simply asked what if we treated everyone like grandmothers?
I personally think that would make the world a different place. Many people love their grandmothers, treat them with respect and would do them no harm. If we took that into account when dealing with others, the world would be a different place.
The Message is Simple
After all of the stories are shared, Robby’s message is simple. “If you want to be awesome, you have to treat people awesome,” he said.
