How do you begin your mornings? I’d prefer a 6:30 or 7 a.m. get up time. But not today. Starting today, I am beginning mine with morning cardio.
My coach has prescribed morning cardio to turn things up a notch. My afternoon cardio is now 5 a.m. with a new supplement stack.
My morning cardio
Three times a week I will be in the gym turning up the cardio followed by a little nap in the sauna. If I have to get up in the morning to knock out cardio, I need a little nap before heading back home to eat my first meal of the day.
Today’s workout was 16 minutes on the step mill. I watched a little bit of Netflix to help pass the time since there wasn’t anyone to watch so early in the morning.
It looked like this:
- Single steps – 2 minutes
- Side steps (right over left) – 1 minute
- Side steps (left over right) – 1 minute
- Single kickbacks – 2 minutes
- Skip every other step – 2 minutes
- And then repeat for a total of 16 minutes.
By the time I was done, I was a sweaty mess and happily headed to the sauna.
This new supplement/pre-workout stack has my metabolism on another level. I’m glad it is only three mornings a week. I have no idea how people drink pre-workout daily. I would not be able to maintain it not even for the next few weeks as we really zero in on show day.
I am looking forward to all of the changes that are coming in the next few weeks. We are trying something different than in the fall. It will be an exciting time.
What does your morning cardio look like? Or do you prefer cardio in the afternoon?
